Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Crystal, a memory service operated by ERA HQ ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The service

Crystal stores knowledge you and your connected AI tools submit, curates it, and makes it recallable across your tools. The self-hostable core is open source under its repository license; these terms cover the hosted service.

Your account

You are responsible for your account, for keeping your API keys and access tokens confidential, and for activity under them. You can revoke tool access at any time.

Your content

You own the content in your memory bank. You grant us the limited license needed to host, process, back up, and serve it to you and the tools you connect, and no license beyond that. You are responsible for having the rights to store what you store.

Acceptable use

Don't use Crystal to store or distribute unlawful content, to violate others' rights or privacy, to attempt unauthorized access to the service or other tenants, or to resell the service. We may suspend accounts that threaten the service or other customers, and we will tell you when we do.

Fees

The free tier is free. Paid plans bill through Stripe, acting as merchant of record, at the prices shown at purchase, recurring until canceled. You can cancel anytime and keep the paid capacity through the end of the billing period. When a plan's capacity is reached, writes pause and reads continue; nothing you stored is held hostage.

Availability and changes

Crystal is a young service, developed in the open. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it, and features may change as the roadmap evolves. We will not remove your ability to export your data.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as is. AI-generated and AI-curated content can be wrong; the trust tiers exist precisely because machine-written knowledge needs verification, and you should not rely on recalled content for consequential decisions without checking it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

You can stop using Crystal and delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, with notice and an opportunity to export your data except where the breach makes that unreasonable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we will note it here with a new date and notify account holders by email before the changes take effect.
